Throughout the last couple of weeks we have been informing both staff and youth about the Youth Community and Transition Project; about is and what we will be working on the next two years.
Friday the 14th of March we started up the first intensive transition group with the 10 youth. The next 8 weeks they will be working closely together with our councillor and teacher Karla Aguilar. She will in the best possible way help the youth to get a clear picture of what type of future they have in front of them, how to reach their goals and how to become a success in their own life as well as being lights for others.
The two first days has been about team building, career planning and creating a group with trust and respect for each other.
In this week the group will be going to Tegucigalpa and work with Pastor Alvin Anderson who has a street ministry in the capitol where he helps kids and youth on the streets, works with the youth in prison and many other things.
This trip and work with pastor Alvin will be about getting a clearer image of how life can be outside of Emmanuel and also to show them that the choices that they take in life can have big consequences for their future.
In the coming month we will also be having workshops about project management for both project staff and some of the youth. We will begin with mini projects and community workshops.
We will keep you updated with more news in a near future.
