Hey everyone!
The four Youth Leaders have now landed on Honduran soil, and have spent close to a week at Orphanage Emmanuel. While Jairo and Dulce has gone back in to school to catch up on the things they missed while they were in Denmark, the Danish youth leaders have used the first week to get settled in their new home, and get an overview of their work tasks. The Danish Youth Leaders have been distributed to each their own children houses, and when they are not working on the project, they are helping out with the kids.
We have already had two meetings with the Honduran project group, and yesterday we had the first meeting with the youth group “Discipulado” (discipleship), where the four youth leaders were in charge, and where over 30 youth were engaged.
All in all we feel like we have been settled and are already beginning to refer to the orphanage as home. The days are long and we get up early in the morning, but when we go to sleep every night, we feel satisfied and that what we are doing has purpose. We are looking forward to getting more anchored in the project, and to see our work bear fruit as the youth grow.
