Work Areas

The Youth Community Project works in many different areas. On this page you can see which areas and also read a short description of these.

Discipleship
Our discipleship group consists of around 50 youth from Emmanuel. Within the discipleship program we have
- Youth Church
- Weekly meetings for boys and girls
- Leadership training
- Worship group
- Drama group
- Sunday school
- Evangelism
- Camps and retreats
- Bible Studies

OANSA/AWANA
OANSA or AWANA (in the US) is a Sunday school program where the youth get the opportunity to be developed as leaders. They do weekly activities with the medium aged children at Emmanuel. Besides the weekly activities the children also get to go to national championships and camps.

Staff
We also do activities with the staff at Emmanuel. These are activities such as networking, staff training and fellowship.

Counseling

We have counseling for the kids in colegio and bachillirato (high school) with focus on both educational and personal development. We try to help them figure out what they would like to do in the future and how to get there.

Mini Projects
We have done many different types of mini projects during the last three years. We have fixed houses in Guaimaca, given out clothes and Christmas presents in the poorest areas of Guaimaca, visited the poorest hospital in Tegucigalpa and visited a youth detention centre. The youth have been taking part in the planning, execution and evaluation of all of these mini project.

Vida Adulta /Adult Life
A transition program made by Red Viva Honduras. This program is for youth whom are soon ready to leave the orphanage that they are at. Youth from different orphanages meet for different workshops to preparate the youth for the life outside in the Honduran society.

Workshops
We have done several workshops with themes like:
- Drugs and alcohol
- Youth and sexuality
- Gangs
- Boyfriends/Girlfriends
- Religious Cults
- How to write a CV

Vocational Training
For about two months while the kids were out of school we had 9 girls pass a beauty class where they were taught how to cut hair and do manicures and pedicures. The class was taught by a local hairdresser.
